Capital Educational and Charitable Trust is an NGO established with the noble cause of serving the students and general population from villages, rural areas and economically backward communities through various skill development / welfare projects in education and livelihood in Chennai and surrounding cities of Tamil Nadu.
Education for an individual not only empowers him/her to earn a livelihood, in the process it helps them evolve into better citizens and contribute to the development of society and the nation.
Education is undoubtedly the most powerful catalyst for social transformation. However, it is heartbreaking that many students are unable to complete even primary or secondary education, making senior secondary or higher education beyond their reach. Students who manage to complete their S.S.L.C., Diploma, or I.T.I. often face obstacles in continuing further studies, primarily due to their poor economic background. On the other hand, those who are fortunate enough to receive an education often lack access to job-oriented courses that would enhance their skills and give them an edge in the job market. We are committed to serving these students by enrolling them in skill development courses to support the development of society.
We believe that unless every individual in society is proactively involved in the process of development, sustainable change will not occur.
As we have practical sessions with our own machinery in our campus, the students get to know how to handle the equipment confidently. Through our experience and analysis, we have noticed that even though industries have the potential to offer jobs, a major reason for underemployment or unemployment is that students lack industry knowledge and are not trained to be industry-ready with the required skill sets to enter the workforce. Vocational skill training and courses could be a short-term solution to address this issue.
We conduct short-term courses of one to two month's duration with a curriculum based on strong industry collaboration, focusing on hands-on skill training as per industry requirements and providing counseling for students. Skill development courses offered include Diploma in CNC Turning, Milling, AutoCAD, UniGraphics, Mastercam, and Quality Management.
The Trust serves through four steps such as Mobilization, Training, Placement in job or entrepreneurship and post-placement support.
